It’s been late arriving this year, the cooler weather. But it’s here, and now likely to hang about for a while. Rugging up in bulkier clothes doesn’t mean compromising your jewellery style. It’s an opportunity to adjust the way you wear your favourite pieces, and maybe invest in a new one or two.

Here are NAJO’s top three tips for wearing fine jewellery when the temperature drops.

1. Collar up

Punctuate a fine fitted turtleneck or high crew neck with a fabulous statement collar.

The Big Spratling Necklace is a luxurious heirloom exquisitely crafted in Mexico by artisan silversmiths. Its woven design, studded with small silver beads, will enliven even the simplest black or grey knit.

The Fidelity Necklace, meanwhile, with its graduating links, is substantial enough to sit under your coat and still shine like a star.

We love the sculptural seamlessness of the El Sol Choker – still textured but guaranteed not to snag your best cashmere scarf.

The same can be said of the Dover Choker, the moody onyx centrepiece designed complement those darker seasonal shades.

Finally, the Vineyard Necklace is a minimalist twist on wearing gleaming silver beads, the flattened dome discs offering a streamlined, lightweight profile and wonderful interplay with light.

2. Ultimate showpiece

Even when the temperature drops to single digits and you’re covered from beanie to boot, there’s still a chance to express your style story.

Diehard NAJO fans (we know you’re out there, and we love you for it!) will readily recognise our bestselling Weeping Woman Earrings – a favourite anytime of year. Now you can warm up those grey winter days with the same style in 14-carat rose gold plated sterling silver.

Staying in those golden tones, the Beta Large Gold Earrings will glamorise a chunky scarf, or stick to the sterling silver version for that grey marle cable knit sweater.

Speaking of chunky, the double loop effect of our Strudel Hoop mimics a stitch of yarn in knitting, except in highly polished sterling silver. The Flounce Large Earrings are a maximalist’s dream, a long tri-hooped design reaching almost to your collarbone. The ultimate winter head-turner.

3. Cuff em!

What we love about cuffs in winter is that they are smooth and substantial enough to sit over a slim-fitting sleeve. Our favourites for this season are the Shia Hinged Bangle with its oxidised embellishment, the clean simplicity of the Roma Cuff, the traditionally inspired Senorita Cuff with its beadwork trim and the glorious ornamentation of the Flutter by Night Cuff – the ultimate future heirloom.
