Nearly forty years ago, NAJO began as a quiet spark - born of Jo’s lifelong love of contemporary sterling silver and nurtured in a household where her mother, a silversmith, crafted her own pieces by hand. That early exposure to artistry, form, and the beauty of honest materials shaped Jo’s eye from an early age.

The true turning point came in the 1980s, when Jo travelled through Mexico and discovered a world of extraordinary craftsmanship. In small silversmithing towns, she found artisans whose work told stories of the rich mosaic of culture, life, art, fashion, and history. Their divine, hand-polished pieces carried a soulfulness she had never encountered before. That’s where the NAJO story began.
